BRISBANE, Australia, 2019-Aug-09 — /Travel PR News/ — Hilton Brisbane Team Members will clean public gardens, cook group meals, donate blood and support their long-term charity partners in an inspiring week of community service this month.
August 12-16 marks Hilton Brisbane’s Global Week of Service, the multinational hospitality company’s annual effort to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality, making lasting and positive impacts in Brisbane’s local communities.
Hilton Brisbane has compiled a list of important projects that will see Team Members take part in a variety of community service activities:
- Clean up the City Botanical Gardens and riverbank
- Prepare nutritious meals and collect pantry items to donate to Oz Harvest
- Support blood collection for the Red Cross
- Donate educational resources to children’s education charity, The Smith Family
- Make care packages and clean vans for Rosies – Friends on the Streets
- Donate 40 litres of bathroom amenities to homeless laundry and shower service, Orange Sky Australia
Chris Partridge, General Manager of Hilton Brisbane said Hilton’s Global Week of Service is an incredible chance for Team Members to have a positive impact within our local Brisbane communities.
“These activities perfectly align with our global Travel with Purpose initiative, where we are committed to not only halving our environmental footprint by 2030, but also doubling our social and community efforts,” he said.
Hilton has held its annual Global Week of Service since 2011, with last year seeing Team Members across Australasia collectively contribute 7,500 volunteer hours, positively impacting local communities.
“Curating Hilton Brisbane’s Global Week of Service program is a labour of love, and I’m heartened by how our Team Members want to engage in ways to help those in need and care for our community and environment.” said, Adrienne Putelli, Human Resources Manager, Hilton Brisbane.
2019 Global Week of Service comes less than three months after Hilton Brisbane Team Members marked the company’s centenary by planting 100 trees in Mt. Gravatt East as part of Brisbane City Council’s ongoing program to regenerate local habitats with native flora and fauna.
The hotel has also won the Queensland Hotel Association’s award for Outstanding Community Service & Achievement three years in a row – 2016, 2017 and 2018 – while research institute Great Place to Work this year recognised Hilton as a World’s Best Workplace globally.
