Belfast, Northern Ireland, 2017-Nov-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Laura Duggan, Environmental Manager at George Best Belfast City Airport, is celebrating after being recognised by Business in the Community Northern Ireland (BITCNI) for her significant contribution to environmental sustainability.
Laura received the George Dawson Award at the launch of the BITCNI Environmental Benchmarking Survey Results last week, where the airport received Gold Status in the Survey for the fourth consecutive year.
Passion and commitment to improving environmental performance both within the airport and in the wider company saw Laura win the accolade, with her relentless drive for sustainable development and environmental improvement.
The accolade is in addition to numerous awards won by the airport for its Corporate Responsibility strategy, including being named the ‘Right Place to Work’ at the acclaimed Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards and Business in the Community’s ‘Responsible Company of the Year 2017’.
Michelle Hatfield, Director of Human Resources and Corporate Responsibility at Belfast City Airport, said:
“I would like to warmly congratulate Laura on an award that is truly deserved for the important role she plays in our corporate responsibility and community engagement programme and in implementing environmental projects and initiatives.
“Laura often goes beyond the call of duty in providing support and guidance about environmental issues to our staff and community partners.
“Our award-winning Community Commitment Plan helps us to focus on four key strategic priorities, – Community, Education, Environment and People. Corporate Responsibility is very much at the heart of our business and our employees are truly passionate about their commitment to making a difference.”
