George Best Belfast City Airport Best Kept Awards announces final call for Health and Social Care Facilities across Northern Ireland

BELFAST, Northern Ireland, 2019-May-16 — /Travel PR News/ — A final call for Health and Social Care Facilities across Northern Ireland to enter the George Best Belfast City Airport Best Kept Awards has been issued.

The Best Kept Awards, hosted by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC), are designed to recognise and celebrate the health facilities that go above and beyond to ensure they are environmentally friendly, bright, colourful, and aesthetically pleasing to visitors and residents alike.

Millbrook Resource Centre, Ballymoney, was named the overall winner in 2018 with judges commenting on its impeccable appearance, tidy manner and innovative initiatives aimed at bringing service users and staff together to create a sustainable place to live and work.

Doreen Muskett, President of the NIAC, said:

“We are delighted to be on the hunt for the Best Kept Health and Social Care Facilities again, promoting sustainability and good stewardship in the maintenance of our environment.

“It is vital for residents in health and social care facilities to feel comfortable and enjoy their surroundings as a pleasant and tranquil environment can lead to a reduction in illness, less stress, and quicker recoveries.

“Working towards the awards serves a testament to both the staff and residents at these facilities, who have committed countless hours volunteering to further enhance their surroundings.”

Historically Lynwood Hostel, Newtownabbey, has been the most successful facility in Northern Ireland with seven wins since the awards inception in 1995.

In close second is Norfolk Court Supported Living, Antrim, which has a total of five wins, and Magherafelt Day Centre, which has four.
