Frankfurt Airport celebrates Christmas with Yuletide cheer and activities from December 3 to 23

Three weeks of Yuletide cheer and activities from December 3 to 23 – Discover gift ideas and special offers at FRA’s many shops and restaurants

FRANKFURT, Germany, 2014-12-2 — /Travel PR News/ — The magic of the Christmas season is arriving once again at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), with the check-in halls already decked in festive lights and decorations. The sounds of “angel choirs” will envelop the public areas of the departures halls and the marketplaces located behind the security control. From December 3 to 23, passengers and visitors will be able to frolic through the passenger terminals to enjoy three weeks of Yuletide cheer and activities at Germany’s Gateway to the World. FRA’s shops and restaurants will be featuring Christmas gift ideas, special offers and menus. Staff will be handling out Christmas shopping vouchers to visitors and also inviting them to take part in games that offer the chance to win instant prizes.

To satisfy the Christmas culinary cravings of passengers and visitors, bistros and restaurants will be offering special Yuletide menues and beverages. A pop-up temporary store is selling original Dresden Christstollen Christmas fruitcake as well as traditional Christmas candies and sweets. Along with sweet treats, sweet sounds will fill the air of the terminals on December 11 when Lufthansa’s “Angels on Air” choir will sing Christmas songs, as part of the “Happy Moments” program running in in the atrium mall of Pier A-Plus in Terminal 1: performances are scheduled for 10:00, 13:00 and 15:00.

A special pre-Christmas highlight will be FRA’s last AirXperience Day of 2014 – titled “Winter Magic” – which Fraport will be presenting in both terminals on December 14, the third Sunday of Advent (from 10:00 to 18:00). The entire family can get that “happy holilday” feeling by watching or taking part in various activities. A surprise visitor from the far north is also expected. Joulupukki, the Finnish Father Christmas, will stomp through the terminals handing out small gifts.; You can also send Christmas greetings to family and friends with a recorded music video. An ice sculptor will create glittering Christmas figures. Sports-minded visitors can test their skills at the ski-jumping simulator or play curling. Kids love baking and eating their own Christmas cookies, which they can do at FRA with star TV-chef Mirko Reeh. And listening to world’s best Christmas fairy tales is an enchanting treat for the ears of eager children.

Christmas and winter magic events are part of Fraport’s ongoing “Great to have you here!” service quality program, initiated several years ago at Frankfurt Airport to enhance the passengers experience at Germany’s largest aviation hub. In 2013, FRA served more than 58 million passengers.
