Michelin-starred chef returns to Wine Country to helm the distinctive dining establishments at Calistoga’s must-visit Resort
Napa Valley, U.S.A., 2022-Jun-08 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley, Wine Country’s leading luxury resort in the heart of California’s famed wine region, announces the appointment of acclaimed chef Rogelio Garcia as the Executive Chef of TRUSS Restaurant + Bar, as well as a soon-to-be-announced fine dining restaurant. Making a welcome return to Wine Country, the chef brings with him a multitude of culinary prowess and a passion to showcase the region’s legendary terroir, produce, and ingredients.
Chef Garcia’s vision for the new restaurant will reference his global cooking techniques to create a menu that spotlights Napa Valley produce and artisans at the forefront and pairs exquisitely with world-class local wines. The space was thoughtfully designed by award-winning hospitality design firm EDG, featuring dark woods, warm, soil-inspired hues, and muted tones, drawing upon the natural surroundings just outside. Uniquely, the kitchen is fully visible behind glass walls for guests to observe the action, including two in-kitchen chef’s tables. The restaurant also boasts a terrace that overlooks sprawling views of the Calistoga vineyards and Palisades Mountains.
The new restaurant is adjacent to the lively TRUSS Restaurant + Bar, where Chef Garcia will add his culinary touch to the more casual menu as well. TRUSS has become a must-visit Calistoga destination since its November 2021 opening, offering seasonal fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as bar bites, signature cocktails and exquisite fine wine at the vibrant bar and fireside lounge spaces, a coffee and bottle bar, and an al fresco demonstration kitchen featuring an Argentinian wood-burning grill.

Born in Mexico City and raised in Los Angeles and Napa, Chef Garcia’s culinary interest was sparked at an after-school job as a dishwasher at a restaurant in Yountville. Rising through the kitchen ranks, Chef Garcia held positions in some of Wine Country’s most respected restaurants including at two-Michelin-starred Cyrus in Healdsburg under the guidance of renowned Chef Douglas Keane, as Executive Sous Chef at Calistoga Ranch, as Chef de Partie at the iconic, three-Michelin-starred The French Laundry, and finally as Executive Chef at Angèle along the Napa River. Following his time in wine country, Chef Garcia set forth to San Francisco where he spent the last seven years perfecting his craft at notable restaurants such as Traci des Jardins’ The Commissary, then at Michelin-starred Spruce, earning Michelin stars of his own in 2018 and 2019. Most recently, Chef Garcia led the team at Luce in San Francisco’s InterContinental Hotel. Additionally, Chef Garcia is an alumnus of Bravo’s Top Chef Season 15 and author of an upcoming cookbook, Convivir: Modern Mexican Cooking in California’s Wine Country.
