Vantaa, Finland, 2018-Apr-20 — /Travel PR News/ — Finavia, Finnair and Alepa have developed a new service that makes shopping at the airport and travelling easier and smoother.
You no longer need to carry souvenirs, gifts and groceries purchased from these companies’ online stores and the shops in the gate areas of Helsinki Airport to your destination; you can simply pick them up at the airport’s pickup point after your return flight.
“Finavia has been working with various authorities for a long time in order to create a convenient service for picking up purchases made at the airport. Many passengers do not want to carry items purchased at the airport back and forth in an airplane. This is one of the services our customers have increasingly been looking for in recent years,” says Elena Stenholm, Finavia’s head of commercial services at Helsinki Airport.
Stenholm is happy to see that the shops at Helsinki Airport, Finnair and Alepa have embraced the opportunity to experiment and were ready to change their processes in order to improve the customer experience.
The pickup service is for shops in the Helsinki Airport gate area that sell taxable goods. The service is not available for goods purchased from duty free or tax free shops. This is prohibited by the Finnish customs and taxation legislation.
You can also pick up products purchased from the Helsinki Airport Click & Collect and Finnairshop online stores and the Alepa Kauppakassi online service at the new pickup point.
Anyone can make purchases at these online stores. The pickup point is conveniently located right next to the entrance to the airport’s train station, and it is open 24 hours a day.
The pickup service is free of charge regarding deliveries from shops and the Helsinki Airport Click & Collect online store. Purchases from Finnairshop and Alepa Kauppakassi are subject to a service fee.
