FAA Associate Administrator for Airports Eduardo Angeles to present at the 2015 Airports Going Green Conference

CHICAGO, 2015-9-23 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is pleased to announce that Eduardo Angeles, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Associate Administrator for Airports, will present at the 2015 Airports Going Green Conference. This is an exciting opportunity for Conference attendees to learn about the FAA’s initiatives for airport sustainability, emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and renewable energy grants.

Angeles manages programs for national airport planning and development, including environmental processing, safety standards, design and engineering, certification, and financing. He will make his presentation on Monday, October 26, during the “FAA Initiatives on Sustainability, Energy and Emissions Reduction Programs” session. He will give an update on FAA’s airport sustainability initiatives, including the Zero Emission Vehicle Pilot Program and the Voluntary Airport Low Emissions (VALE) Program, which awarded a total of $24.5 million in federal grants to 11 airports in 2015. These sustainability programs are part of the $3.5 billion annual Federal airport grants program that the Associate Administrator oversees.

For the second half of the FAA session, Angeles will be joined by Barry Cooper, FAA Great Lakes Regional Administrator; Chris Hugunin, FAA’s Deputy Division Manager for the Office of Airports, Airports Division Great Lakes Region; and Christina Drouet, Great Lakes Regional Executive Manager. Together they will be available to answer questions and describe recent sustainability undertakings in the region including the new O’Hare South Airport Traffic Control Tower (LEED Gold anticipated), which will be highlighted in a video presentation.
