Luzhu District, Taiwan, 2020-Jan-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Taiwan-based EVA Air ranks 9th among the world’s safest airlines for 2020, based on analyses by the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC). The latest ranking and assessments were released in the February 2020 edition of Germany’s “AERO International Magazine” on January 14. This honor followed EVA’s recent recognition as 3rd in AirlineRatings.com’s 2020 World’s Top-20 Safest Airlines.
Using its “Risk Index,” JACDEC evaluates 33 parameters for annual overall rankings by comparing an index value of each airline’s accumulated operations with those of other carriers. It considers factors such as fleet age, IATA flight safety audits, serious flight accidents and flight losses within the past 30 years. Since JACDEC began airline safety ranking in 2003, EVA has consistently ranked in the world’s top 100 safest airlines.
EVA strives to maintain the highest standards of flight safety as a core value. By investing in simulators for all of the types of aircraft it operates and corresponding cabin-training facilities, EVA helps its crews develop and continuously improve essential skills for everything from smooth flight operations to coping with emergencies in simulated environments. Through hard work over the past 30 years, EVA has also demonstrated zero defects eight times in a row since 2003 in IATA’s Operational Safety Audits (IOSA) that take place every two years.
For EVA, safety is the most important part of every flight. Quality service would not be possible without full attention to every single aspect of operations. Recognition from JACDEC and other respected aviation authorities not only demonstrates EVA’s outstanding performance but also highlights the cutting-edge competitiveness of Taiwan’s aviation industry in the global marketplace.
