LONDON, 2016-Apr-06 — /Travel PR News/ — Enterprise Rent-A-Car has today launched Enterprise Car Club a year after it acquired one of Britain’s largest hourly car rental businesses, City Car Club. The launch, which follows a period of substantial investment to enhance the user experience, will see a new green Enterprise Car Club logo appear on all car club vehicles and bays by early summer.
The move will see Enterprise Car Club supported by more than 430 fully staffed Enterprise locations, which is the largest vehicle rental branch network in the UK. It is part of a wider programme that Enterprise is implementing to become the principal mobility provider for businesses and private motorists wanting to access any type of vehicle for any period of time, whether for an hour, a day, a week or much longer.
During the last year, Enterprise has invested heavily in the car club’s website and in-car technologies to improve the customer experience for members. That investment programme, which also includes new cars and a broader range of vehicles, including electric models, will continue in the coming weeks and months.
Khaled Shahbo, Managing Director, Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK & Ireland, said: “We believe that great things happen when we listen to our customers, which is why we acquired City Car Club a year ago. Consumers want to access vehicles in the way that’s most convenient to them – that includes on-street car clubs.
“Some customers want to walk into a branch and be helped by one of our employees through the process, face-to-face. Others want to book a car for an hour, access it via their smartphone and just go. We want to develop a network that can support all these requirements. That also means providing impeccable service and a terrific rental experience whether a customer wants a van for a week, a Maserati for a special day, or an electric vehicle for an hour,” added Shahbo.
The new Enterprise Car Club is one of the UK’s largest car club operations by number of locations. It has operations in 19 cities around the UK, including 24 of London’s 32 boroughs, and is expanding.
Apart from the visual change in the logo, all current terms and conditions will continue to apply. Existing City Car Club memberships will automatically be transferred and access to vehicles will continue with current membership cards. The billing and payment process will also remain unchanged. To celebrate the launch, car club members will receive a 10 per cent discount until 30 June, 2016 at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for their longer term rental needs.
Enterprise is also working closely with local authorities and transport providers to integrate car club services alongside public transportas part of a total mobility solution. In several locations, including in Nottingham and Leeds, this means people can access car club vehicles with the same smart card that they use for train, tram, bus and park & ride services. Enterprise will continue to invest in technology to increase choice and improve access to community transport.
Shahbo continued: “It was always our intention to make City Car Club part of the Enterprise family of vehicle services. By supporting our car club operations with the UK’s largest branch network, we will be able to provide an even better, more responsive service for our customers. Our existing car club members will continue to enjoy the same benefits as before, but there will also be further investment in new vehicles, locations and technologies to provide members with the perfect choice for every journey.”
