(PRESS RELEASE) Dubai, UAE, 2024-Dec-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates Airline has officially unveiled its first Airbus A350-900, marking a significant milestone in its fleet expansion and commitment to delivering cutting-edge passenger experiences. The special event, held in Dubai, was led by Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, and attended by VIP guests, government officials, and industry partners. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the aircraft’s innovative interiors, which feature next-generation technologies and enhanced cabin products.

A New Era for Emirates’ Fleet

The Airbus A350 introduces three spacious cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers: 32 Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy Class seats. The aircraft is designed for operational efficiency and elevated passenger comfort, showcasing Emirates’ latest innovations in inflight entertainment, seating, and technology. The A350 is the first new aircraft type to join Emirates’ fleet since 2008, complementing its current Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 operations.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, highlighted the aircraft’s role in the airline’s growth strategy: “The A350 expands our range and flexibility, allowing us to reach new markets and enhance connectivity. With its updated interiors, this aircraft reaffirms our commitment to offering world-class travel experiences.”

Advanced Features Across All Cabins

The A350 introduces a range of new features:

  • Business Class: Inspired by luxury automobiles, the 32 lie-flat ‘S Lounge seats’ include wireless charging, personal lighting controls, a minibar, and a 4K ice entertainment screen.
  • Premium Economy: A spacious cabin with leather reclining seats, generous legroom, and upgraded amenities, providing luxury at a competitive price.
  • Economy Class: Redesigned with enhanced comfort, including adjustable headrests, new fabric designs, and larger entertainment screens.

The A350 also boasts higher ceilings, quieter cabins, and improved storage, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Expanding Destinations and Network Growth

The A350’s efficiency and range will enable Emirates to expand its global network, including to mid-sized airports unsuitable for larger aircraft. Its inaugural commercial flight is scheduled for January 3, 2025, to Edinburgh, followed by operations to GCC cities, European destinations, and West Asia. Additional long-haul routes will be announced in 2025, offering flights of up to 15 hours from Dubai.

Partnerships and Sustainability

The delivery of the A350 underscores Emirates’ long-standing relationship with Airbus and Rolls-Royce. Phillipe Mhun of Airbus emphasized the strategic partnership, while Omar Ali Adib of Rolls-Royce highlighted the advanced Trent engines powering the A350, designed for durability and sustainability.

Looking Ahead

With 65 Airbus A350s set to join the Emirates fleet, the airline is poised to meet growing travel demand while supporting Dubai’s ambitious D33 economic strategy. By combining innovation, sustainability, and its signature hospitality, Emirates is shaping the future of air travel.
