LONDON, 2014-6-24 — /Travel PR News/ — easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, is celebrating for the second year running following one of the industry’s prestigious events, the Airline Retail Conference 2014 (ARC).
The airline picked up accolades for both the Best Airline for Inflight Retail and Best Airline for Inflight Food and Beverage.
The conference and awards ceremony, which took place last week, covers all aspects of inflight retail with speakers from airlines, buyers, suppliers and industry experts. easyJet fought off competition from British Airways and Lufthansa to win the retail category, and competed with nominees KLM and British Airways for the Best Airline for Inflight Food and Beverage award. Winners are selected by a host of industry experts representing the airlines, suppliers, concessionaires and caterers.
Peter Duffy, easyJet’s Group Commercial Director, said:
“I’m delighted that easyJet has once again been recognised at ARC for our inflight product range. We have worked really hard to create choices which not only appeal to our passengers’ tastes, from locally sourced fresh food options to a range of snack boxes, but at the same time, always ensuring our products are high in quality as well as good value. This double win is testament to that.”
easyJet has an on-board boutique and bistro serving great value food and drink, along with fantastic retail products to suit any traveller’s needs. Last month easyJet served over two million drinks, including coffee from the innovative Little Coffee Bag Company, Twining teas and a range of soft and alcoholic drinks. Customers can look forward to some new products from early July when the range will receive a refresh. With these changes customers can expect to see more of the same great quality with a focus on provenance and value for money.
