Located strategically near Dubai World Central (DWC), the facility represents a significant AED 100 million (US$ 27 million) investment and is set to enhance Dubai’s position as a key global logistics hub.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, and Steve Allen, CEO of dnata, alongside senior executives from both organizations.
A Major Step Towards Enhanced Operational Capacity
The new warehouse will support the region’s growing demand for cargo and logistics services, with a capacity to process 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually. This expansion will increase dnata Logistics’ storage capacity by 50% and create over 50 new direct jobs within the company.
The facility will feature cutting-edge technologies, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) for efficient cargo management, as well as an AI-driven Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve operational efficiency and partner value.
Sustainability at the Core
Aligned with dnata’s global sustainability goals, the warehouse will prioritize environmental efficiency. The facility will be equipped with solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and smart HVAC systems to reduce energy consumption. dnata aims to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification within one year of operations, underscoring its commitment to eco-friendly business practices.
A Vision for Growth and Innovation
The new warehouse is expected to be operational by November 2025. It will be one of 11 locations where dnata Logistics offers premium freight forwarding, warehousing, and supply chain services across the UAE.
