Craters Edge by Wilderness Collection – panoramic views over Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater

Umlingo Travel PR based in West Sussex is pleased to announce the addition of Wilderness Collection’s Craters Edge to its PR portfolio, effective 1 November 2024. This luxurious tented camp is perched on the north-eastern rim of Tanzania’s iconic Ngorongoro Crater, nestled in beautiful acacia woodland and, notably, just ten minutes’ drive from all the wildlife action on the crater floor.

Crater’s Edge comprises 15 beautifully appointed tented suites designed for absolute comfort and immersion in nature, complete with authentic African décor and modern amenities.  All suites offer 360-degree gas fireplaces, comfy leather armchairs, walk-in wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms with both showers and copper bathtubs.

Large glass doors lead out to private viewing decks to soak up the panoramic vistas. Designed by Les Harbottle, the camp blends seamlessly into the surrounding bush and has a minimal footprint and impact on the ecosystem.

Nestled within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site, Crater’s Edge enjoys an enviable position, right on the descent road to the Crater floor, ensuring a quick and easy 4-minute drive to Lemala gate and access the floor before the majority of other vehicles can get there.  This ensures a far more intimate, unrushed encounter with Africa’s Big Five and the annual migration.  Its close proximity also means the camp is able to cater for beautifully set up private lunches right on the crater floor which truly sets the experience apart.

Foodies will love the camp’s sophisticated cuisine which showcase a diverse range of dishes that celebrate the abundance and local culture of the region.  Guests can enjoy various activities including game drives, guided walks and stargazing under the Milky Way, as well as visits to the local Maasai village.
