Connecting through music, art and inclusion as Emirates Group celebrates UAE National Day with Rashid Centre for People of Determination

(NEWS) DUBAI, 2025-Nov-28 — /Travel PR News/ — The Emirates Group has highlighted its commitment to accessibility and community inclusion through a collaborative engagement day with the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, aligning with the UAE’s Year of Community initiative. The full-day programme brought together Emirates Group Youth Council members, senior executives, and Rashid Centre students for creative workshops, performances, and interactive exchanges that underscored the national values of unity, compassion, cultural pride, and equal opportunity.

Students welcomed the delegation with performances before taking part in arts and sports sessions designed to encourage shared expression and social bonding. In celebration of UAE National Day, participants produced artwork honouring foundational leaders, including the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Selected pieces are now displayed at Emirates Group headquarters as a symbol of partnership between both organisations.

Discussions throughout the day focused on enhancing the travel experience for People of Determination — an area Emirates has been developing through ongoing global accessibility initiatives. The airline is the first Autism Certified Airline™ following training of more than 30,000 staff and continues to expand sensory-supportive programmes such as its Travel Rehearsal initiative, now active in 17 international airports. Emirates’ approach also includes autism-aware ground operations in Dubai, certified check-in locations, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower support, and sensory-adjusted travel guidance for families.

Oliver Grohmann, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Emirates Group, said the collaboration reflects the organisation’s commitment to ensuring aviation remains inclusive, while Rashid Centre General Manager Mariam Othman praised the experience for offering students a meaningful showcase for their skills. Emirates also acknowledged that continued partnerships with accessibility experts will shape future improvements in both ground and inflight passenger support.

The Rashid Centre, which has provided integrated education, therapy, and vocational programmes since 1994, noted that initiatives of this nature reinforce its mission to equip young people with independence and confidence. The closing celebration featured a National Day-themed musical performance, followed by certificates recognising Emirates Group participants for their engagement and contribution.
