Celebrating Excellence: PATA Recognizes Chapters and Student Leaders for Outstanding Contributions to Travel and Tourism

PATA Face of the Future 2024 Honoured for Outstanding Achievements

(IN SHORT) PATA recognized the achievements of its Chapters and Student Chapters during the PATA Power of Networking session in Bangkok. Awards were given to various chapters for their leadership, engagement with young tourism professionals, and sustainability initiatives. The PATA India Chapter received the Spirit of PATA Award, while the PATA Nepal, Thailand, and Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapters were honored with Awards of Excellence. Jane Park was recognized as the PATA Face of the Future 2024. Special Recognition Certificates were also awarded to the PATA Maldives and New York Chapters.

(PRESS RELEASE) Bangkok, Thailand, 2024-Sep-4 — /Travel PR News/ — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) celebrated the achievements of its Chapters and Student Chapters during the PATA Power of Networking session held on August 29 at Abandoned Mansion Bangkok. The event highlighted the exceptional efforts of these groups in advancing the travel and tourism industry across the Asia Pacific region.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid emphasized the significance of the awards, noting that they honor the dedication of PATA’s Chapters and Student Chapters in organizing impactful training programs and business development events that align with PATA’s mission of fostering sustainable growth in tourism.

The Spirit of PATA Award was presented to the PATA India Chapter for consistently embodying the association’s values over the past five years. The PATA Nepal, Thailand, and Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapters received the Awards of Excellence for their leadership in promoting tourism in the region.

The PATA Malaysia Chapter was recognized with the Best Engagement with Young Tourism Professionals Award for its support of young professionals and educational institutions, while the PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter received the Best Sustainability Initiative Award for its innovative sustainability projects. The PATA British University Vietnam (BUV) Student Chapter was honored with the Best Newcomer Award for its exceptional performance in its first year.

Special Recognition Certificates were awarded to the PATA Maldives Chapter and the PATA New York Chapter for their continued commitment to promoting responsible tourism.

Additionally, Jane Park, Assistant Manager at Hotel ICON, was formally recognized as the PATA Face of the Future 2024, and Karnchana Phakpho, Chairperson of the International Tourism and Hospitality Management Programme at Bangkok University, received a certificate of recognition for her excellence in strategic management.
