Starting February 22nd, Allegiant Adds Flights to Spring Training Home of the Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore, MD, 2018-Nov-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Allegiant Air announced today (Nov.13,2018) that it will offer nonstop service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Sarasota, Florida. The new year-round flights are scheduled to begin on February 22, 2019. Allegiant’s nonstop service will operate twice per week between BWI Marshall Airport and Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport.
“Allegiant will offer our customers ultra-low-cost flights to Sarasota’s beautiful white sand beaches and renowned cultural attractions,” said Ricky Smith, Executive Director of BWI Marshall Airport. “Local baseball fans will celebrate quick, easy flights to the spring training home of our Baltimore Orioles. We welcome the added service from our partners at Allegiant.”
Allegiant Air first started service at BWI Marshall in April 2016. The airline’s new flights between BWI Marshall Airport and Sarasota will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft.

BWI Marshall continues to set records for passenger traffic, with new airlines and flights to new markets. The airport has posted strong growth, with new monthly passenger records in 37 of the past 38 months through August 2018. In January, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced a new report which revealed that BWI Marshall Airport produces a total economic impact of $9.3 billion. The airport and visitors generate and support more than 106,000 jobs throughout the region.
