Jost Lammers, the chief executive officer of Budapest Airport received a high-ranking accolade from the Hungarian National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers. Following the proposal of president Sándor Demján, Jost Lammers was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” at an award gala held at the Palace of Arts.

BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2014-12-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Traditionally, the award is handed over on 5 December each year, the Day of the Entrepreneur, based on the decision by the presidium of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers. The accolade is bestowed not only on the heads of large companies, but also on the managers of small and medium-sized businesses, in recognition of exceptional performance in their respective fields.

This year, the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, upon the proposal of president Sándor Demján, named the CEO of Budapest Airport “Entrepreneur of the Year”. As is traditional, the prestigious accolade was handed over by minister of the national economy Dr. Mihály Varga at an award ceremony held at the Palace of Arts in Budapest.

Over the past few years, Budapest Airport not only managed to weather the loss of its base carrier and implement its 330 million EUR investment program in spite of the global financial crisis, but also stabilized its financial position and is expected to register record passenger traffic this year.

“I think this award is acknowledgement not so much of my personal achievements, but rather of all the employees of Budapest Airport and of all our airline and non-airline partners since our performance is the result of a joint effort,” emphasized Jost Lammers during the presentation of the award. “I am sure that during this record year of 2014, we have strengthened the positions of Hungary in international tourism, and contributed to the good performance of the national economy. We continue to pursue our long-term aim of keeping Budapest Airport on the most dynamic development path in the region, offering state-of-the-art service and a perfect travel experience to our passengers,” he added.
