
British Airways Unveils Exclusive English Sparkling Wines and Prestige Champagnes for a Premier In-Flight Experience

The move, which is part of the airline’s £7bn transformation programme, is supported by extensive training for over 1,300 cabin crew members and includes a dedicated wine tasting area at Heathrow. As part of its continually evolving wine portfolio, the airline will debut a rotating range of prestige cuvée options sourced from renowned English producers such as Nyetimber, Gusbourne, and Sugrue South Downs. These innovative offerings will join a curated lineup of esteemed Champagnes, including the returning Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle, to be enjoyed by passengers in First and Club World cabins on long-haul flights.
Starting from 30 March, First cabin travelers will have the unique opportunity to savor 1086 by Nyetimber Rosé 2014—a vibrant, summer-inspired cuvée—and later, from October, the inaugural release of 1086 by Nyetimber, marking a historic first for English prestige sparkling wines. Throughout the year, the selection will continue to evolve, with Gusbourne’s luxurious Fifty One Degrees North 2016 featured from July and a new blend from Sugrue South Downs scheduled for launch in January 2026.
In the business class segment, passengers in Club World will also benefit from an enhanced offering. Alongside familiar favorites like Digby Fine English’s Brut NV, the rotating list will include Gusbourne’s 2019 Vintage Rosé from July and, starting in October, Hattingley Valley’s Blanc de Noirs—originally enjoyed in First. Looking ahead to 2026, Club World will expand its portfolio with the introduction of Roebuck Reserve Brut 2020 and Digby Leander Pink Brut NV.
This comprehensive upgrade is supported by British Airways’ commitment to exceptional service. More than 1,300 cabin crew members have completed the airline’s First Service Specialist training programme, which features an exclusive wine masterclass led by British Airways’ Master of Wine. This investment in training ensures that each interaction meets the highest standards of in-flight service, enriching the overall travel experience.
