Bristol, UK, 2019-Jul-08 — /Travel PR News/ — easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, has launched its first flights from Bristol Airport this week to Milan, Biarritz and Brindisi, giving passengers in the south west the opportunity to explore even more of Europe this summer.
easyJet’s first flight from Bristol to Milan Malpensa airport in Italy took off on Monday 1st July and kicked off a week of inaugural flights, with the first flight to Biarritz in France taking off on Tuesday followed yesterday by the airline’s first flight to Brindisi, also in Italy.
easyJet expects to carry more than 36,550 passengers across these new routes this summer. The new destinations are expected to prove popular amongst travellers looking to enjoy sightseeing, world-class shopping and lively nightlife in Milan; experience incredible surfing off the long sandy beaches of Biarritz on France’s Basque coast; or soak up the historic architecture in the Adriatic port city of Brindisi.
Many low fares are still available for those looking to enjoy some summer sunshine in some of the UK’s favourite European destinations and flights to these new destinations are available online at easyJet.com with fares from as little as £22.99.*
easyJet has now launched five routes at Bristol this summer; inaugural flights to Montpellier in France and the Greek Island of Rhodes launched in June.
This week the airline also began operating an additional daily flight between Bristol and Paris, providing even more opportunity for customers to enjoy a city getaway to the French capital and a convenient schedule will allow for great value day trips for commuters from businesses across the south west.
The growth in easyJet’s Bristol network is being supported by the arrival of a 17th aircraft at the airline’s south west base this summer, meaning that easyJet will offer 10% more flights compared to summer 2018.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating further expansion at Bristol Airport and with three inaugural flights taking off this week we are pleased to be offering even more variety for our customers in Bristol this summer, whether they are looking for a lively city break, cultural getaway or scenic surf trip.
“Having been at Bristol Airport for 18 years, the addition of another aircraft this summer will help us to deliver long term, sustainable growth at the airport whilst providing passengers with a greater range of destinations, all with low fares and great service.”
Nigel Scott, Business Development Director, Bristol Airport said:
“We are delighted to see these exciting destinations commence this week from Bristol Airport. The new routes further extend the choice and options of flights available to passengers. easyJet’s decision to base an additional aircraft at Bristol, bringing the total to 17 based aircraft, provides these new routes and an additional daily Paris flight, improving business connectivity. Frequency of flights to Paris is vitally important for businesses such as EDF Energy, Airbus and other key corporate clients and opens up further opportunities for inbound tourism using Bristol as the gateway to the region.”
easyJet is the largest airline at Bristol and now operates up to 774 flights a week from Bristol across 74 routes and expects to fly over 5.2 million passengers this year.
