(IN SHORT) Breeze Airways is expanding its service from Charleston International Airport with three new routes to Albany, New York, Rochester, New York, and Burlington, Vermont. The announcement comes after Breeze’s first profitable quarter and highlights the growing demand for affordable, nonstop flights from Charleston. These new routes are expected to boost the region’s hospitality industry and offer enhanced connectivity for both business and leisure travelers. The airline continues to make significant strides in its growth, with projections for a 15% regional increase in 2025. The expansion further solidifies Charleston’s role as a crucial hub in Breeze Airways’ network.

(PRESS RELEASE) NORTH CHARLESTON, SC, 2025-Feb-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Breeze Airways has announced its continued expansion at Charleston International Airport with the addition of flights to three new cities: Albany, New York, Rochester, New York, and Burlington, Vermont. This marks an exciting milestone for the airline, as these previously unserved destinations will provide travelers in the region with new, affordable, and direct flight options.

Lukas Johnson, Breeze Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized that Charleston remains a popular destination for the airline, and the region’s growth plays a pivotal role in their broader strategy. “As we expand our network out of Charleston, we’re seeing increasing demand. Adding more frequencies beyond twice a week is an exciting development, and we’re enthusiastic about this new chapter of growth,” said Johnson.

This announcement follows Breeze’s first profitable quarter, further demonstrating the airline’s progress and solidifying Charleston International Airport as a key hub since Breeze’s inception less than four years ago. The new routes will coincide with the four-year anniversary of Breeze’s inaugural flight to Charleston in May 2021.

The service to Rochester, NY, will begin on May 8, 2025, operating on Thursdays and Sundays. Burlington, VT, will be served starting May 30, 2025, with flights on Mondays and Fridays. Albany, NY, will begin service on June 13, 2025, with Monday and Friday departures.

Charleston County Aviation Authority CEO and Executive Director Elliott Summey welcomed the expanded service, noting that Breeze’s new nonstop routes to Rochester and Albany mark the airline’s 5th and 6th New York State destinations from Charleston International Airport. He also highlighted the new service to Burlington, Vermont, as the first direct flight from Charleston to the state and the 25th nonstop Breeze destination from the airport. “This expansion reflects the demand for affordable nonstop flights to more destinations, and Breeze continues to deliver on that request,” Summey added.

The new routes also promise to provide a boost to the local hospitality industry. Helen Turner Hill, Chair of the Aviation Authority and CEO of Explore Charleston, expressed her optimism, saying, “This announcement is a testament to our strong partnership with Breeze, and it brings more visitors from key Northeast markets while enhancing connectivity for local residents traveling to upstate New York and Vermont.”

Looking ahead, Breeze Airways expects a 15% growth in the Charleston region for 2025. As of 2024, Charleston International Airport is ranked as the fourth fastest-growing large or medium-sized hub in the United States, according to Cirium Analytics.
