VIENNA, Austria, 2018-Jan-30 — /Travel PR News/ — Each year Austrian Airlines trains a large number of apprentices in different areas of the company. The field of aircraft engineering is particularly exciting. Austrian Airlines is once again recruiting fifteen candidates this year for apprenticeship training in its own training workshop. In addition, five trainees will be accepted for training as office clerks. The training program is carried out in cooperation with the Vocational Training Institute (BFI) for Lower Austria and can be concluded in combination with a higher education entrance qualification (“Matura”).
The requirements of prospective candidates:
• Completion of mandatory schooling (first ability group in the main subjects and at least a mark of “C” in them, no third ability group)
• A cheerful disposition
• High level of commitment and sense of responsibility
• Interest in aviation
The training program for aircraft technicians lasts 3.5 years, whereas the comparable training as office clerks takes three years. The program includes practical on-the-job training, a theoretical education in the vocational school as well as internal and external training seminars on specialized topics, for example technical English. At the present time, the gross remuneration paid to trainees amounts to € 514.84 per month.
