ANA Holdings Collaborates With Japan Voluntary Organizations Active In Disaster (JVAOD) In Building Leadership During Disaster Recovery

Tokyo, Japan, 2017-Apr-20 — /Travel PR News/ — ANA HOLDINGS (hereafter “ANA HD”) announces a collaborative program with Japan Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (JVOAD)*1 to help build leadership in disaster recovery across Japan.

The “Disaster Recovery Leader Connect Program” will bring together professionals and experts in earthquake disaster recovery from across Japan to share knowledge and expertise and deepen discussions on the topic. The program, launching in June this year, will initially support the recovery effort in the Kumamoto region, following the 2016 earthquake. ANA will provide air travel for disaster recovery leaders from across Japan who have experience responding to the Great Hanshin Earthquake, the Chuetsu Earthquake, and the Great East Japan Earthquake. These leaders will travel to Kumamoto and work with the local disaster recovery team. Coordination with local non-profit organizations (NPOs) will be managed by JVOAD who will also assist leaders in developing recovery plans.

Through this program, ANA HD and JVOAD aim to build a community of leaders in disaster recovery, further developing Japan’s detailed knowledge and expertise in this area. This program supports ANA HD’s ambition to help build a robust and strong society, one of the aims outlined in Goal 11 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)*2.
