Aberdeen, Scotland, 2013-11-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — The UK’s leading bus operator, First UK Bus, has appointed Stuart Munro as its Finance Director. Stuart, who will begin his new role from December 2, joins from Tube Lines, a subsidiary of Transport for London, where he was Director of Finance, Commercial and Services.
Talking about his appointment Stuart said: “I have joined First at a very exciting time. Through a very successful transformation programme the company is now focusing on delivering service improvements for our customers.
“Making services more attractive and encouraging more customers to use our buses is pivotal for the business. I’m relishing the opportunity of supporting our teams and helping First deliver volume growth across our UK operations.”
Managing Director of First UK Bus, Giles Fearnley, said: “I’m delighted that Stuart has agreed to join the company. His experience in the transport industry, his business acumen and determination, not to mention his innovative approach will be a huge asset.”
Stuart began his career in 1990 with Ernst & Young, progressing to Senior Audit Manager before leaving in 1998 to join Balfour Beatty as its Group Financial Accountant. Two years later he was promoted to a Divisional Head of Finance role before joining Alfred McAlpine Infrastructure Services as Finance Director for its Electricity and Water Services divisions in 2004. In 2006 he became Finance Director at London Rail, a division of Transport for London, and in 2011 was appointed Director of Finance, Commercial and Services at Tube Lines.
