Innovative Qantas x July Luggage Debuts CaseSafe Technology for Global Baggage Visibility

(IN SHORT) Qantas and July have launched a co-branded luggage collection featuring July’s CaseSafe tracking built into TSA locks, enabling travelers to monitor bags via Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub. The suitcases offer durable battery life, global connectivity, and integration with the Qantas app’s baggage tracking. Two styles—midnight black Qantas Edition and dark blue Qantas Frequent Flyer Edition—are available in both carry-on and checked formats, each with distinctive leather accents and an embedded tag holder. The collection reflects Qantas’s commitment to seamless digital travel experiences and July’s mission to simplify luggage tracking.

(NEWS) MASCOT, Australia, 2025-Aug-6 — /Travel PR News/ — Qantas has teamed up with Australian luggage innovator July to introduce its first trackable suitcase range, integrating July’s CaseSafe technology directly into TSA-approved locks. The new Qantas x July collection leverages Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub to offer travelers real-time visibility of their baggage from check-in to carousel. With long-lasting batteries and global connectivity, the suitcases sync with the Qantas app’s existing tracking features for end-to-end journey peace of mind.

Catriona Larritt, Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer, emphasized the airline’s drive to “provide end-to-end travel convenience” by outfitting luggage with next-generation sensors and seamless digital integration. July co-Founder Athan Didaskalou added that the embedded CaseSafe technology allows travelers to “set and forget,” ensuring their bags are always connected and monitored. Two designs—Qantas Edition in midnight black with red detailing, and Qantas Frequent Flyer Edition in dark blue with Napa leather handles—are available in carry-on and checked sizes, each featuring a built-in Qantas luggage tag holder.

Similarly, other airlines are enhancing baggage transparency with connected-tracking solutions. Cathay Pacific now lets travelers securely share the location of their AirTags or other Find My network accessories directly with the airline, using encrypted, anonymous location sharing that expires once the bag is returned (iOS 18.2 or later required). Meanwhile, Eurowings has inked a five-year deal with SITA to deploy SITA Bag Journey across its network, giving staff real-time visibility of each bag within the airport and, in future, enabling passengers to track their luggage end-to-end. This system, aligned with IATA Resolution 753 and integrated with SITA’s WorldTracer® for mishandled baggage, aims to streamline operations and reduce mishandling costs.
