TUI Unveils New Blue and Suneo Resorts in Egypt and Tunisia as Part of Expansive African Rollout

(IN SHORT) TUI Group announced the addition of two new hotels to its African portfolio: TUI Blue Samaya in Marsa Alam, Egypt, featuring 143 rooms and an aqua park, and TUI Suneo Palm Beach Skanes in Tunisia with 294 rooms and extensive gardens. The company has over 20 more African properties in development, including a 140-room TUI Blue resort on Kotu Beach, The Gambia (opening late 2025), and a TUI Blue hotel under construction in Côte d’Ivoire set for 2027. TUI’s luxury brand The Mora Zanzibar celebrated its first anniversary, earning praise for its contemporary design and personalized service. Altogether, TUI Hotels & Resorts now operates 97 hotels across eight African nations, totaling more than 30,000 rooms.

This month, the premium TUI Blue range welcomed TUI Blue Samaya in Marsa Alam, Egypt—a 143-room resort complete with an on-site aqua park—while value-oriented travelers can now book into TUI Suneo Palm Beach Skanes in Tunisia, offering 294 rooms set around expansive gardens, all-inclusive dining, sports, and entertainment.

“At the Future Hospitality Summit Africa, we announced over 20 new hotels in our joint-venture pipeline across the continent,” said Artur Gerber, Managing Director of TUI Hotels & Resorts. “We already have a significant footprint in North Africa, Cape Verde, and Zanzibar, and we’re excited to bring our strong leisure brands to additional markets.” Among these is the first TUI Blue property in The Gambia, a 140-room beachfront resort on Kotu Beach slated to open later this year. In Côte d’Ivoire, construction has just begun on another TUI Blue hotel, targeting a 2027 debut, according to Wesam Okasha, Head of Global Development for TUI Blue.

Meanwhile, TUI’s upscale newcomer, The Mora Zanzibar, celebrated its first anniversary in June. “Guest feedback confirms that The Mora’s blend of relaxed contemporary luxury and personalized service resonates strongly,” Gerber noted. “We look forward to introducing more Mora hotels across Africa.”

TUI Hotels & Resorts now operates 97 hotels and over 30,000 rooms in eight African countries, underscoring the Group’s commitment to delivering region-tailored hospitality experiences.
