McLEAN, VA, 2015-1-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Geoffrey Weill, president of WEILL, is the 2014 recipient of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Winthrop W. Grice Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Public Relations.

Weill will be honored on Feb. 23 at the HSMAI Adrian Awards Dinner Reception and Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis.

The Winthrop W. Grice Award recognizes individuals who have spent a major portion of their careers in the hospitality and travel profession and have contributed to the betterment of the industry in a significant and lasting way, over an extended period of time.

“Throughout his career, Geoffrey has been hugely successful,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHBA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “He is knowledgeable and supportive of his fellow practitioners, offering advice and counsel and sharing opportunities with others. Weill opened his agency in 1995 and has worked in the tourism public relations industry since 1976, starting with the Israel Government Tourist Office, a client he continues to represent.

The agency specializes in tourism and travel-related promotion and public relations for clients throughout the world. For his work, Weill has won some 60 HSMAI awards, including a Platinum award, and he was twice awarded the Society of American Travel Writers President’s Plate for co-chairing its annual conventions in Israel.

Weill is widely known and admired for his successful work to promote tourism to Israel, even during the nation’s most difficult times. The company has also successfully helped launch a variety of clients in the U.S. including CCAfrica, Inkaterra Peru, the Algodon Mansion and Aqua Expeditions in Peru and Indochina. He has been recognized for his work on behalf of a variety of luxury hotels including Aman Resorts, bringing it from a little known boutique brand to being recognized as one of the top luxury hotel groups in the world.

Throughout his career, Weill has maintained a highly educated and trained team.
