2012-11-13 — /travelprnews.com/ — Don’t miss out on the chance to debate the big issues affecting growth at VisitEngland’s Visitor Economy Forum next week.  Taking place on 22 November in association with Natwest Bank plc, the one-day conference will focus on growing the visitor economy through innovation and investment, and includes an impressive line-up of industry leaders including The Eden Project’s Sir Tim Smit and Longleat’s David Bradley.

Many businesses from across the visitor economy have already signed up to join the debate, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Best Western Hotels, BritRail and Southeastern; they will join national bodies such as the National Trustand Historic Houses Association.  A wide range of tourism organisations from across the country are also set to attend, from destination organisations such as VisitCornwall, London & Partners and NewcastleGateshead Initiative to theTourism Alliance and British Hospitality Association. Representatives from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) will also be in attendance.

Programme highlights include:
• Economic Overview & Future Trends: An overview of the UK and Global Economy, key sectors and business lending, by James McCann, Economic Advisor at RBS/Natwest.
• Visitor Economy 2020: A detailed analysis of growth opportunities for the domestic tourism industry over the next ten years, with Stephen McCall, MD, UK & Ireland, InterContinental Hotels Group, Ray Jones, Group Development Director, Time Out.
• Investment, Innovation, Inspiration: A debate on the role of innovation in visitor economy growth with a panel of experts chaired by Barry Dodd, Chairman, GSM Group and Chairman of the York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership:

– Sally Broom, Managing Director, TripBod
