Travel, food brands that responded with humanitarian aid to victims affected by the Philippine “Maring” floods 2013

Manila, Philippines, 2013-08-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — Great help is great when it is provided in time when it is needed most. Over the past a few days we looked into travel and food brands, companies and organizations that offered humanitarian aid to people in desperate need being affected by the major Philippine flooding caused by severe tropical storm “Maring”. Here is the list of the names to be honored and what exactly they helped with.

Jollibee Foods Corp, which is the biggest fast food chain in Philippines, through its foundation is donating P2 million (roughly $45000) to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help the agency assist families affected by the floods,

Aside the financial help, Jollibee Foods Corp and Jollibee foundation are also donating sacks of rice in evacuation centers in Cavite, Pampanga and Bataan.

Free airlift of relief goods to Metro Manila is being offered by Zest Air (formerly known Asian Spirit), which is a local airline based at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Charitable organization interested in this service can get in touch with Zest Air head of cargo team Ernest Bernal by sending an e-mail mnlcargo@flyzest.com.

Zest Air provincial cargo stations in Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Kalibo, Iloilo, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Puerto Princesa and Tacloban started accepting relief goods and donations for free airlift to Metro Manila.

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) said they started accepting donations from the provinces for free airlift to Manila. PAL has 30 provincial stations that can be used to transport donations to Manila.

The free donation airlift is part of the PAL Foundation Humanitarian Cargo Grant program.

All McDonald’s stores in Metro Manila announced they are now accepting donations in kind (water, canned goods, old clothes, toiletries, other basic necessities, etc.)

Collected donations will be distributed to affected areas through the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya.
