At Six — contemporary art hotel in Stockholm joins Preferred Hotels & Resorts portfolio

New opening aims to restore a bygone era of glamour to the Brunkebergstorg district and signifies first-time presence in Sweden for the Preferred brand

Upon its launch, At Six will be the newest experience available within the Preferred Hotels & Resorts LVX Collection, which offers guests exceptional, renowned properties in vibrant cities and resort destinations, featuring the finest accommodation accompanies by attentive and engaging personal service.

Located on Brunkebergstorg Square, which was once the favorite haunt of 19th century high society, At Six promises to reinstate this central Stockholm district as the hub for bon vivants. Conceptualized by Nordic Hotels & Resorts and award-winning London architectural firm Universal Design Studio, At Six will offer 343 immaculately-designed and spacious guestrooms, including 41 suites and a presidential suite covering 915 sqft with private rooftop terrace. Communal facilities to be enjoyed upon launch include modern art collections and exhibitions curated by Sune Nordgren, wine bar, cocktail bar, brasserie and gym. Positioned to become the city’s preeminent destination for dining and socializing, the adjacent two-story rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace will serve cuisine by award-winning local chef Frida Ronge and sweeping views of the capital. For meetings and events, the hotel comprises 2000sqm flexible space, which can accommodate anything from 850 people to intimate groups of four.

This new partnership heralds the start of a wider partnership with Nordic Hotels & Resorts, operator of At Six and Scandinavia’s leading hotel brand, with three of the group’s other properties – Hotel Oleana in Bergen, Norway; Nordic Light in Stockholm, Sweden, and Skt. Petri in Copenhagen, Denmark – already brought into membership of the Preferred brand. Additional properties are scheduled to join the Preferred portfolio over the next several years. Weghmann travelled to Oslo in May 2016 with Lindsey Ueberroth, President & CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, to personally sign the contract at Nordic Hotels & Resorts headquarters with the brand’s CEO Torgeir Silseth.
