FITUR GREEN 2015: Towards sustainable consumption and production in the tourism sector (28 -30 January, FITUR Madrid)
The sixth edition of FITUR Green, jointly organized by UNWTO, the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) and FITUR, is held under the theme “Towards sustainable consumption and production in the tourism sector”. Over the course of three days, the event will feature existing national and international initiatives of sustainable tourism through roundtables, presentations and workshops, giving particular emphasis to the recently established 10YFP Programme on Sustainable Tourism, led by UNWTO.

Children’s Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism (28 January, 16.00-17.30, FITUR Madrid)
The workshop Children Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism, organized by the UNICEF Spanish Committee with the support of UNWTO, will showcase the commitments developed by leading tourism companies to incorporate child protection and the fight against all forms of child exploitation in their social policies and strategies. The aim of the workshop is to inspire other entities of the tourism sector to get involved in initiatives that can give children the best start in life.

New technologies can contribute to making the tourism experience more accessible and rewarding for everyone, including seniors, persons with disabilities and others with reduced mobility. This event, organized by UNWTO, Fundación ONCE and PREDIF (Plataforma Representativa Estatal de Personas con Discapacidad Física) in collaboration with IFEMA and Vodafone España, will highlight good practices in the development and use of new technologies in the fields of travel, tourism and leisure. It will also address the major challenges for generalizing the use of these technologies in the various links of the accessibility chain in tourism.
