Sydney, Australia, 2014-9-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Tourism Australia has confirmed the appointment of Adele Labine-Romain as its new Executive General Manager Strategy and Research.
Ms Labine-Romain replaces Nell Anderson who recently announced her intention to resign from Tourism Australia, after having spent six years working for the national tourism organisation.
Adele is currently Executive Director with the Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF), where she has worked for more than five years leading the forum’s research and strategy team.
She has extensive experience working in tourism policy, strategy and research – both within Australia and also Canada, where she was born. Prior to TTF, Ms Labine-Romain worked within the Ministry of Tourism in the Ontario Government.
Tourism Australia Managing Director John O’Sullivan, said Ms Labine-Romain was highly respected within the Australian tourism industry, and would be a valuable asset to Tourism Australia.
“I’d like to recognise the significant contribution that Nell Anderson has made during her time at Tourism Australia. With Adele’s solid background in tourism strategy, policy and research, as well as her deep understanding of the workings of Government, I think we’ve found the right replacement.
“I’m confident Adele will hit the ground running as we move towards the critical next delivery phase of our industry’s Tourism 2020 strategy,” he said.
Ms Labine-Romain said she had a real passion for the tourism industry and that Australia had a fantastic product to sell.
“I am very excited by the opportunity to work at Tourism Australia and help drive the tourism industry towards its potential.
“I’ve absolutely enjoyed working with the Tourism & Transport Forum and look forward to continuing all the strong partnerships I’ve developed during my time here,” she said.
Ms Labine-Romain will commence her new position at the end of October.
