CHICAGO, 2015-4-22 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), in collaboration with the Flower Show Productions, Inc., is celebrating “Earth Week” with the installation of garden exhibits at O’Hare International Airport. The exhibits add beauty and color to the airport terminals while helping to promote several Chicagoland nonprofit organizations that are working to foster a healthier, greener and more sustainable landscape for our region and beyond.
Chicagoland nonprofit organizations including the Chicago Community Gardeners Association, Lurie Garden, Neighbor Space, and the Peterson Garden Project are featuring a series of window façade replicas with window box floral and vegetable displays. The exhibits are located in Terminal 2 near Gate F1 and in Terminal 5 near the food court. They will be in place through Friday, May 8.
The Chicago Flower and Garden Show, produced annually by Flower Show Productions, Inc., was instrumental in the coordination of the Airport Garden Show. Its mission is to inspire, educate and motivate the community. Annually, the show repurposes more than 2,000 plants, over 100 tons of sand, and a variety of hardscape and other materials. Various plants and materials are given back to Chicago nonprofit organizations after the event. Next year’s Flower and Garden Show will take place at Navy Pier from March 12-20, 2016.
