Tackling ‘Away-Somnia’: Radisson Brings Plasma-Powered Sleep Enhancement to Hotel Stays

(IN SHORT) Radisson Hotel Group has partnered with sleep-tech company Biow to launch Revitalize Rooms, a next-generation in-room sleep experience designed to combat “away-somnia”—the disruption of sleep when staying in unfamiliar environments. Available now at select properties in Copenhagen, Liverpool, and Madrid, these rooms feature the Biow E-OX device, which utilizes cold plasma and light therapy to improve sleep quality, reduce stress, and support cellular recovery. This initiative builds on Radisson’s existing Brilliant Basics offering and underscores its commitment to guest wellbeing and innovation in hospitality.

(PRESS RELEASE) BRUSSELS, 2025-Apr-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Radisson Hotel Group is elevating guest wellness with the launch of Revitalize Rooms—a new sleep-enhancing experience developed in collaboration with Biow, an innovator in sleep science and cold plasma technology. This initiative marks a significant step in the Group’s ongoing mission to prioritize the health and wellbeing of guests by addressing one of the most essential components of a hotel stay: restorative sleep.

As part of its “Radisson Brilliant Basics” promise, the Group already ensures superior sleep quality through premium bedding. Now, with the addition of Biow’s cutting-edge sleep technology, Radisson aims to tackle the common issue of disrupted rest when sleeping away from home—what the Group calls “away-somnia.”

Scientific studies highlight how unfamiliar environments can interfere with sleep, with many travelers reporting poorer rest while staying in hotels. While a comfortable bed remains the top priority for over 75% of travelers, research suggests that only about one-third of people sleep better in hotels. To address this gap, the Revitalize Rooms feature Biow’s E-OX device, a plasma-powered innovation that creates an optimal environment for restorative sleep by removing biotoxicity, reducing oxidative stress, and supporting cellular recovery.

Guests will find this exclusive sleep upgrade in four Radisson properties across Europe:

  • Radisson Collection Royal Hotel, Copenhagen
  • Radisson RED Liverpool
  • Radisson Blu Hotel, Madrid Prado
  • Radisson RED Madrid

The Biow device operates quietly around the clock and uses light therapy to stimulate skin collagen while improving sleep quality and overall wellbeing. Guests can reserve Revitalize Rooms in advance and benefit from better rest, reduced stress, and a renewed sense of energy.

“We know how critical good sleep is to our guests, and many struggle to sleep away from home,” said Cristina Serra, Global SVP Brand & Experience at Radisson Hotel Group. “Our partnership with Biow addresses this directly—transforming hotel rooms into spaces where guests don’t just rest, they recover.”

Pedro Llana, President and Founder of Biow, added, “Together with Radisson, we’re making sleep regenerative. Our cold plasma technology supports deep breathing, cellular repair, and energy recovery throughout the night.”

Biow CEO Ignacio Fernandez-Simal emphasized, “Even one night with Biow’s technology can rebalance the body, offering a completely new level of sleep enhancement and stress relief. Radisson is turning sleep into an experience of recovery and renewal.”
