(NEWS) SEOUL, 2025-Sep-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Korean Air has signed a strategic partnership with Boeing to strengthen collaboration in predictive maintenance, marking a significant step in the airline’s Smart MRO strategy. The agreement, formalized at the MRO Asia-Pacific 2025 Conference in Singapore, will combine Korean Air’s operational expertise with Boeing’s engineering and digital services to advance data-driven maintenance practices. Korean Air, which established its dedicated Predictive Maintenance Team in 2023 and developed its own in-house operational solution, will build on this foundation by working closely with Boeing to forecast component health, minimize flight disruptions, and reduce costs while ensuring maximum aircraft availability.
The partnership emphasizes the integration of advanced analytics and next-generation best practices to boost fleet reliability as the airline continues to expand. Chan Woo Jung, Senior Vice President and Head of Maintenance and Engineering at Korean Air, noted that the collaboration will take the company’s predictive maintenance capabilities “to the next level,” reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence. Boeing’s Crystal Remfert highlighted the synergy between Korean Air’s operational experience and Boeing’s advanced software and technical expertise, underscoring the shared goal of improving efficiency and reliability across the fleet.
Earlier this year, Emirates has also reinforced the aviation industry’s growing focus on predictive maintenance through a new partnership with Airbus, integrating the Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) and Core X3 analytics platforms into its operations. The agreement, signed by Emirates Engineering and Airbus Customer Services leadership, will enhance the reliability of Emirates’ Airbus A380 and A350 fleets by using real-time data to monitor aircraft health, predict potential issues, and schedule maintenance with greater precision.
