“We look forward to giving even more customers the opportunity to save money on travel with our ultra low fares and optional add-ons that provide customers with a total price that’s tough to beat,” said Spirit’s Senior Director of Network Planning Mark Kopczak.
“Spirit Airlines continues to find new business opportunities within Houston’s thriving economy,” said Houston Aviation Director Mario C. Diaz. “Since arriving last September, Spirit Airlines has repeatedly stepped forward with new investments in new nonstop routes and it’s the air passengers in Houston who are reaping the benefits.”
“We are extremely happy to see Spirit launch new nonstop flights between Detroit and Houston as it was our third largest market without low cost carrier (LCC) service,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Thomas Naughton. “With this new flight, 14 of our top 16 markets will now have LCC competition – and Spirit is the reason for the majority of them.”
“We are very excited that Spirit Airlines is continuing to grow its service at Denver International Airport with its newest direct flights to Houston,” said Kim Day, Manager of Aviation. “This service will increase the number of options available to travelers and enhance Denver International Airport’s position as one of the strongest for domestic air service.”
Spirit currently offers daily nonstop service from Houston to Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas and Orlando, as well as a variety of connections throughout the Americas. In addition, daily nonstop service between Houston and Los Angeles begins on April 25, 2013.
Voting is currently open in Spirit’s Destination Give program at give.spirit.com/houston, featuring five Houston-area causes: AIDS Foundation Houston, Alzheimer’s Association, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, JDRF, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Houston. The organization receiving the most votes by March 31, 2013, will receive a $10,000 donation from Spirit Airlines.
