2012-09-28 — /travelprnews.com/ — Shareholders Association of the Philippines (SharePHIL) recently held their Joint Roundtable Forum at the Grand Ballroom of the award-winning Dusit Thani Manila.
The event was to serve as “investment 101” to anyone and everyone who may have very basic enquiries regarding investing in private or public companies. It was established with the intent to spread the word about shareholder’s rights. The forum focused on sharing the knowledge on investments and the rights of minority shareholders.
The forum and questions were to be addressed by a panel of guests who are renowned in the field of economics and business. In attendance were the following: SharePHIL’s Founding Chair Evelyn Singson, who was also the former Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) President; SharePHIL’s President Cherry Bernaldo; the former President of Philippine Stock Exchange, Francis Lim; Rex Drillon, the President of the Institute of Corporate Directors; David Gerald who is the President of the Securities Investors Association Singapore. There was also a panel of reactors in the presence of Winnie Monsod – UP School of Economics Professor; Cesar Villanueva – Governance Commission for Government Owned and Controlled Corporations; and Argel Astudillo – PSE Corporate Governance Office Head. The Panel Discussion Moderator was Francis Estrada, is also known to be a former De La Salle University System Chair.
