Airport welcomes travelers back to facilities after a two-year hiatus
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, 2022-Apr-06 — /Travel PR News/ — The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) announced the reopening of its Yoga Rooms today (April 4, 2022), which have been closed for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SFO has Yoga Rooms in two post-security locations, in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Both facilities are open during passenger hours for free, self-guided use. Common-use yoga mats are available for free in the space and will be disinfected regularly.
SFO opened the world’s first Airport Yoga Room in January 2012 in Terminal 2, in an effort to make air travel less stressful and more enjoyable. Drawing inspiration from contemporary color and light artists, the architects designed a room enveloped in a calming blue color. A floating wall symbolizes a buoyant spirit and enlightened mind. Light levels are set low and warm in juxtaposition to the bright, light-filled concourse.
