2012-11-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — In 2013 SAS opens four new year-round routes and six summer routes out of Copenhagen Airport. Especially the route to San Francisco will strengthen Copenhagen Airport’s position as a hub.
SAS four new year-round routes from Copenhagen go to Newcastle, Budapest, Prague and not least San Francisco. The latter route will open in early April, and thereby will the passengers again have a direct flight from Copenhagen to the U.S. west coast.
“Copenhagen and Northern Europe in general have really lacked a direct route to the US West Coast. So that SAS is introducing a route to San Francisco is in every respect excellent news”, said Carsten Nørland, VP Sales and Market for Copenhagen Airport.
To the leisure travelers
Whereas annual routes have a clear business potential, the six new summer routes are clearly aimed at the leisure market.
“Our six new summer routes go to leisure destinations in Southern Europe. Many of our customers choose SAS when traveling on business and leisure. They appreciate our time-saving services, and our award-winning punctuality,” said marketing manager Robin Kristensen, SAS in Denmark.
