WHAT | Clear the cob webs from your costumes, lace up your running shoes and run wild at Woodland Park Zoo’s inaugural Pumpkin Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk presented by Chevron Sunday, October 28.Woodland Park Zoo’s Pumpkin Dash presented by Chevron kicks off the Halloween season with two spooktacular races, the 5K Run/Walk and a free 1K Kids Dash.
5K race registration for Pumpkin Dash presented by Chevron is $30.00 on or before October 27, $40.00 day-of race registration. 1K Kids Dash is free though pre-registration is required. Participants in the 5K Run/Walk can anticipate a scenic course beginning and ending at the Bathhouse Theatre at Green Lake. 5K runners and walkers will receive a Pumpkin Dash Fun Run t-shirt (adult sizes only) and an adult zoo pass valid for one admission through December 31, 2012 included in their race goodie bag. All racers are encouraged to dress in costume. The Pumpkin Dash 5K Run/Walk awards ceremony will follow the race. The top three overall male and female finishers will receive awards. Stick around after the race to join Woodland Park Zoo, Chevron and local sponsors for post-race activities. Race registration is nonrefundable and the event will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is necessary due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made on race day at the race site. All proceeds from this event go towards supporting the zoo’s mission of quality animal care, wildlife conservation and education. In-person registration is available through noon on October 25 at Super Jock ‘n Jill in Green Lake (will remain open until 6 p.m. October 27), Balanced Athlete in Renton, Everyday Athlete in Kirkland, Fleet Feet Sports in Capitol Hill, FootZone in Redmond and Bellevue, Running Elements in Bellevue, Run 26 in Mill Creek, Sound Sports in Seattle and West Seattle Runner in West Seattle.
