(PRESS RELEASE) DOHA, Qatar, 2025-Jun-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways Group has unveiled a remarkable new permanent art collection, “Wildlife Wonderscapes,” at Hamad International Airport (DOH). This collection, featuring interactive bronze sculptures by renowned artists Gillie and Marc, showcases the airline’s ongoing commitment to wildlife conservation and the protection of endangered species worldwide. The exhibition, which has been adapted for the airport with distinct Qatari elements, emphasizes the importance of wildlife preservation and the need for coexistence with nature.

The collection is an extension of a globally recognized series by Gillie and Marc, specifically tailored for Hamad International Airport to highlight native species of Qatar. The sculptures act as a powerful reminder of the fragility of wildlife and the urgent need for conservation efforts, symbolizing hope for a safer future for endangered species.

Hamad Ali Al-Khater, Chief Operating Officer at Hamad International Airport, expressed his pride in the installation, saying, “Airports are places of movement, connection, and reflection. The Wildlife Wonderscapes sculptures by Gillie and Marc have been chosen for their powerful message of conservation. These artworks engage our passengers, making their journeys memorable, and adding to the diverse and iconic art curated throughout the airport.”

Gillie and Marc shared their excitement about the installation: “We are incredibly honored to unveil our largest permanent wildlife sculpture exhibition at Hamad International Airport. Our dream is to inspire millions of travellers to fall in love with the wild and understand the urgent need to protect it. Through art, we hope to give a voice to the voiceless and remind the world that every species matters.”

The ORCHARD, an indoor tropical garden located at the heart of the terminal, has been chosen as the focal point for the sculptures. Originally a space filled with greenery, the ORCHARD now evolves with the addition of animal sculptures, reinforcing the message that nature and wildlife are interconnected and must be preserved.

This installation aligns with Qatar Airways Group’s commitment to wildlife conservation, which is reflected in many of its business operations. Qatar Airways Cargo’s WeQare: Rewild the Planet initiative strives to restore wildlife to their natural habitats, while the airline’s partnership with United for Wildlife focuses on combating illegal wildlife trade. As the first airline in the Middle East to be independently certified by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its anti-trafficking initiatives, Qatar Airways continues to prioritize wildlife protection across all stages of the passenger journey.

The exhibition includes the 3.5m x 10.5m “Wild Table of Love in Doha,” made from six tonnes of bronze, depicting native and endangered animals gathered around a table as a symbol of shared space and coexistence. Other sculptures include the 10m-long “They Were on Wild Ride in Doha” and three variations of the “Falcon with Glove” series, which honors Qatar’s falconry heritage.

Passengers are encouraged to interact with the sculptures and share their experiences by using the hashtag #BeTheWildHIA on social media, helping to amplify the message of wildlife conservation and support global efforts to protect the planet.
