The airline reported record net profits of QAR 6.1 billion (US$ 1.7 billion) and revenues of QAR 81 billion (US$ 22.2 billion) for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. CEO Engr. With a fleet expansion including 94 Boeing 777X aircraft on order, Qatar Airways aims to enhance connectivity to over 170 destinations. (PRESS RELEASE) Doha, Qatar, 2024-Oct-3— /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways convened its 2024 Annual Investors’ Meeting in Doha, focusing on the theme “New Era of Dynamic and Sustainable Partnership.” This event brought together prominent figures from aviation finance, including bankers, lessors, and insurers, who gained insights into the airline’s financial achievements, network expansion, sustainability initiatives, and strategies for employee engagement.

During the meeting, Qatar Airways highlighted its remarkable performance in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, reporting record net profits of QAR 6.1 billion (approximately US$ 1.7 billion) and total revenues of QAR 81 billion (around US$ 22.2 billion). Recognized as the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2024, the airline remains committed to balancing profitability with social and environmental responsibility, as well as operational excellence.

With a modern fleet, Qatar Airways is poised for further growth, holding orders for 94 Boeing 777X aircraft. This expansion will enhance the airline’s ability to connect passengers seamlessly to over 170 destinations through Hamad International Airport, celebrated as the World’s Best Airport by Skytrax in 2024.

The airline is also investing in digital innovations to enhance its First and Business Class offerings, with the anticipated introduction of the ‘QSuite Next Gen’ at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow, set to debut on Boeing B777-9 aircraft by 2026.

Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

A significant focus of the meeting was on sustainability initiatives, as Qatar Airways commits to addressing climate change through various operational measures, including fleet modernization and the utilization of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). The airline’s strategy is built on four pillars: advancing technology, optimizing operations, employing SAF and lower carbon fuels, and participating in the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).

Qatar Airways has achieved numerous industry firsts, such as being the first Middle Eastern airline to join ICAO’s Global Coalition for Sustainable Aviation and securing an offtake agreement for 25 million gallons of neat SAF. These initiatives exemplify the airline’s dedication to environmental stewardship.
