TORONTO, 2012-10-9 — /travelprnews.com/ — Porter Airlines reported a 62.3 per cent load factor for September. This is a decrease from last year of 5.7 points, partly attributable to a significant portion of Labour Day traffic flying in August due to the early holiday. August was the busiest month in Porter’s history.
Figures for the month show 123.9 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs) and 77.2 million Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs). ASMs grew 6.7 per cent from 116.1 million and RPMs decreased 2.3 per cent from 79 million last year.
The third quarter load factor of 69.1 per cent is a company record.
“Overall, we’re encouraged by the entire third quarter results,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “We are also seeing higher average fares with the transition back to business travel in the fall season.”
