(PRESS RELEASE) BAERUM, Norway, 2025-May-2 — /Travel PR News/ — Norwegian‘s loyalty program, Norwegian Reward, achieved remarkable success at the prestigious Freddie Awards, winning four awards in 2025. These awards, widely regarded as some of the most prestigious in the travel industry, recognized Norwegian Reward in the categories “Program of the Year,” “Best Customer Service,” “Best Loyalty Credit Card,” and “Best Promotion.”
Cecilie Nybø Carlsen, VP of Products and Customer Experience at Norwegian, expressed her gratitude at the award ceremony in Chicago: “Receiving these Freddie Awards is an incredible honor and a meaningful affirmation of our loyalty program, especially since the winners are determined solely by our members’ votes. We’ve put tremendous effort into offering greater value to our loyal travellers, and it’s extremely gratifying to see that effort recognized. This is especially significant following the launch of Spenn last year, our new Nordic loyalty currency, which gives our members even more value and flexibility in earning and spending points. A big thank-you to all our crew and colleagues across the company—these awards are a testament to their hard work and the exceptional experience they help create every day.”
Norwegian Reward was nominated in six categories in the Europe and Africa region for airlines, with over four million votes collected from frequent travellers worldwide during the voting period.
Since its inception in 2007, Norwegian Reward has continually evolved to meet customers’ changing needs and expectations. In 2023, the program underwent a renewal, offering customers greater flexibility in choosing benefits and making it more appealing to business travellers.
Last year, Norwegian and Strawberry introduced Spenn, a new loyalty currency that allows members to use their points for both flights and hotel stays. Recently, Reitan Retail announced its partnership, becoming a co-owner of Spenn, which will further expand its use to include grocery, fuel, and other sectors.
Norwegian Reward has previously won the prestigious “Program of the Year” award four times at the Freddie Awards, which are a significant recognition in the Europe & Africa category for airlines. In 2020, Norwegian Reward took home the awards for “Best Promotion” (for the advent calendar), “Best Customer Service,” and “Best Loyalty Credit Card.” In 2023, it won the coveted title of “Best Loyalty Program,” adding to its extensive collection of accolades.
