(PRESS RELEASE) MIAMI, 2025-Apr-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL) has unveiled brand-new images of its latest ship, Norwegian Aqua™, featuring its viral sensation—the Aqua Slidecoaster, the world’s first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide. Ahead of its scheduled return to New York City in August 2025 for roundtrip sailings to Bermuda, the ship was showcased today in an exclusive preview event in the Big Apple. Over 2,000 invited guests attended the two-day inaugural celebration to experience an array of new onboard offerings and signature guest-favorites.
The Norwegian Aqua sets itself apart with a 10 percent increase in size and capacity over sister ships such as Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Its standout attraction—the Aqua Slidecoaster—has been generating buzz on social media thanks to its high-speed powered launch and dual slide design that takes thrill-seekers on two distinct courses across three decks. In addition to this industry-leading feature, the ship boasts a wide range of amenities designed for all ages. Guests seeking relaxation can retreat to the adults-only Vibe Beach Club or indulge in rejuvenating treatments at the Mandara Spa and Salon. Meanwhile, families and active travelers can explore attractions like The Stadium, the 10-story dry slide known as The Drop, and even challenge themselves at the Bull’s Eye Bar for interactive dart games.

Foodies will delight in the ship’s 17 dining options and 18 bars and lounges, including the redesigned Metropolitan Bar which now features a grand piano set to enhance live entertainment experiences. Further exciting additions include the innovative Glow Court, a digital sports complex with an interactive LED floor that transforms from a day activity space to an evening nightclub, and the reimagined Aqua Game Zone, offering a mix of virtual reality and classic arcade games. The entertainment program is further bolstered by world-class lineup events like “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” and “Elements: The World Expanded,” along with interactive productions such as Price is Right LIVE.

Christening ceremonies for Norwegian Aqua will take place on April 13, 2025, in Miami, the self-proclaimed ‘Cruise Capital of the World,’ with two-time Emmy® Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet serving as godfather. After the christening, the ship will embark on a series of seven-day Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida between April and July 2025, followed by five and seven-day voyages to Bermuda departing from New York City from August through October 2025. From October 2025 to April 2026, Norwegian Aqua will sail Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Miami, featuring a debut multi-ship pier at NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
In addition to the spectacular onboard amenities, NCL is rolling out its new More At Sea™ program, which provides guests with unlimited open bars featuring premium beverage brands, specialty dining meals, high-speed Wi-Fi, and $50 shore excursion credits at every port of call—all offered with significant savings.
