CHICAGO, 2015-10-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Airports Going Green is pleased to announce that renowned National Geographic photojournalist and author Robert H. Miller will give the conference keynote address on Tuesday, October 27.
Miller’s award-winning work has captured in words and photos the heroism, pain, determination, suffering, faith, and spirit of veterans. His two recent publications, Portraits of Service: Looking into the Faces of Veterans and Hidden Hell: The Story of My Father’s POW Diary, have each won publishing awards for their honest and inspiring examinations of military service.
On Memorial Day 2016 (May 30), National Geographic will publish Miller’s newest photographic book titled Veteran’s Voices: Remarkable Stories of Heroism, Sacrifice, and Honor. Co-authored by Andrew Wakeford, the intimate photographs and touching stories honor and explore the lives of men and women in the United States military.
In addition to being a professional photographer for the past 36 years, Miller is an internationally recognized consultant in advanced LED lighting and technology design for the global automotive industry. His unique background will provide Conference attendees with a view into the realm of photojournalism and the context for sustainability though a broader lens. Other Conference sessions on Tuesday, October 7 also seek to broaden how you perceive and characterize sustainability. These include a panel on human factors in sustainability titled “Talent: Making Decisions Today as if Tomorrow Matters,” hosted by Amy Armstrong of Nashville International Airport, and a “Sustainability & Diversity – Agree/Disagree” panel hosted by Ernest Huffman of Jacobsen/Daniels Associates.
The 8th Annual Airports Going Green Conference takes place October 25-28 at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza in downtown Chicago. Many Conference sessions will qualify for continuing education hours to help LEED and AIA professionals maintain their credential.
