The 14-storey, 200-key lifestyle hotel at 24 Peck Seah Street is expected to open in Q2 2027. Over 50 dignitaries, including senior executives from Minor International, Kajima Development, Al Wathba Investment, Kim Hua Construction, DP Architects, and ambassadors from Japan and Thailand, attended the groundbreaking. The event featured opening remarks by Minor International’s Chairman William E. Heinecke and a ceremonial soil-turning. The forthcoming hotel will combine the area’s heritage architecture with contemporary Avani design, offering a pool deck, fitness centre, diverse dining options, and a pedestrian link, all within easy reach of Tanjong Pagar and Maxwell MRT stations.

Situated at 24 Peck Seah Street, this 14-storey, 200-key lifestyle property will rise amidst a cluster of conserved shophouses and is slated to welcome its first guests in the second quarter of 2027. The venture is the result of a tripartite joint development between Minor Hotels, Kajima Development of Singapore, and Abu Dhabi’s Al Wathba Investment, underscoring robust international confidence in the local tourism sector.
The groundbreaking ceremony drew more than 50 VIPs and industry leaders. Officiating the occasion were William E. Heinecke, Chairman and Founder of Minor International (the parent group of Minor Hotels); Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International; Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Al Wathba Investment; Shuichi Oishi, CEO of Kajima Development; Winston Zhu Wenting, Managing Director of Kim Hua Construction Pte. Ltd.; and Angelene Chan, Chairman of DP Architects. Ambassador Hiroshi Ishikawa from Japan and Ambassador Ureerat Chareontoh from Thailand served as Guests of Honour.
Following a warm welcome from Mr. Heinecke, who emphasized Avani’s strategic expansion into Asia’s leading gateway cities, the development team shared their architectural vision. Attendees then participated in the traditional soil-turning ritual, officially marking the start of the project.

Designed as an elevated urban sanctuary, Avani Singapore will blend the heritage facades of Tanjong Pagar with sleek contemporary interiors.
