Metrolink announces 25% Corporate Partner Program discount in anticipation of its 25th anniversary

New discount will provide savings to thousands of rider

LOS ANGELES, 2017-Jul-03 — /Travel PR News/ — In anticipation of Metrolink’s 25th anniversary in October, the passenger rail agency is now offering a first time ever 25 percent discount to new Corporate Partner Program participants.

Metrolink’s Corporate Partner Program (CPP) is a commuter benefit program that allows companies and organizations the ability to offer transit benefits to their employees.

Through this new discount, which begins during Metrolink’s July Monthly Pass sales period, new corporate partners will receive 25% off on all ticket and pass types purchased through the program for a six-month time period.

“The Corporate Partner Program is a win for everyone. I’m excited to extend this discount to companies who will join us in providing a safe and relaxing commute for their employees,” said Metrolink Board Chair and City of San Jacinto Council Member Andrew Kotyuk. “We recognize the critical need for both employers and employees to have a commuting solution which provides arriving to work energized and home ready to enjoy life. Our bonus, removing cars from our congested freeways. The five county transportation agencies of Metrolink hope this discount will lead to additional partners from throughout SoCal.”

Employees can receive a tax incentive when purchasing their train ticket or pass through their company. New participants can ride in the comfort and safety of Metrolink trains while enjoying individual tax savings of around $1,000 annually.

“We are delighted to become a part of Metrolink’s Corporate Partner Program and provide an added benefit to our employees,” said Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Gary L. Toebben. “This is another pre-tax benefit that allows companies and organizations the ability to offer transit benefits to employees, while encouraging businesses to continue to grow and succeed.”

Employer benefits of the CPP include a savings on payroll taxes and an improvement on recruitment opportunities, while achieving air quality regulatory compliance.

Companies and agencies have until January 1, 2018 to sign up with Metrolink’s CPP at the discounted rate, while participating companies will receive the discount for six full months after joining the program.

Metrolink’s CPP supports more than 160 corporate partners in Southern California and generates approximately $15 million in revenue each year. On average, 5,500 passengers take advantage of Metrolink’s CPP each month.

Metrolink will celebrate 25 years of service after beginning operation on Oct. 26, 1992 with three routes, 11 stations and 112 miles of track in two counties. It initially carried 2,300 daily passengers. Today, Metrolink offers seven routes to and from 60 stations with 538 miles of track in six counties.
