Manila Hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary in a grand festivity with an unforgettable gala reception on July 4, 2012.
2012-12-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Manila Hotel Grand Centennial Ball began with cocktails and entertainment with Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III gracing the event as the Guest-of-Honor. Manila Hotel Executive Vice President Enrique Y. Yap, Jr. welcomed esteemed guests and opened the evening’s celebration with a 3D mapping video of the Hotel’s history projected on the Manila Hotel façade itself. The cocktail event was hosted by BBC World News Anchor Rico Hizon and guests were serenaded by the UST Symphony Orchestra. Guests were also ushered to the Manila Hotel Artists Lane which featured photographs of the notable personalities who stayed at the Grand Dame.
The center stage for the Centennial Ball was at the Manila Hotel Tent where all 500 guests took part of a special five-course dinner menu expertly prepared under the supervision of Manila Hotel Executive Chef Konrad Walter. The Centennial Ball program was opened by the Bayanihan Dance Troupe and opening remarks by Manila Hotel President Atty. Joey Lina. Guests were also treated to a line-up of world class performances from acclaimed opera singer Andrew Fernando, lyrical jazz pianist Tess Salientes, Joyful Jazz Band, Skarlet, and Mel Villena and AMP Band followed by a celebratory toast with the executives of Manila Hotel led by Manila Hotel Chairman Dr. Emilio T. Yap. The Centennial Ball was hosted by Angel Jacob and Marc Nelson.
