MALDIVES, 2016-Jul-21 — /Travel PR News/ — From India to Paris, London to New York, and now to a speck of sand in the stunning Indian Ocean, luxury leather brand, Nappa Dori, is set to bring a touch of vintage elegance to PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives this August.
As part of PULSE, PER AQUUM Hotels and Resorts’ stream of avant-garde, immersive guest experiences, Gautam Sinha, Founder and Creative Director of Nappa Dori, and his artisans will share secrets passed down through generations in a series of exclusive workshops which celebrate the artistic side of Indian Ocean culture at PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi from 11 to 16 August.
Showcased and stocked at Maison & Objet in Paris, Anthropologie and The Little Market in the US, The Conran Shop and Selfridges in the UK and Doha International Airport, Nappa Dori, which translated literally means ‘leather and thread’, will guide resort guests in the traditional methods of stitching thick hide, shaping and scalping leather, as well as making and personalising their own handcrafted leather belts, wristbands and pouch keepsakes in a series of masterclasses.
Nappa Dori, well-known for collaborations with diverse brands from Royal Enfield to Royce to Kiehl’s and music festivals such as Magnetic Fields in Rajasthan, will be using their Maldivian sojourn to unveil a capsule collection of beautifully handcrafted travel pieces – ‘Nappa Dori x PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi’. A throwback to the days when every journey was glamorous and travel was all about discovering new frontiers, guests at PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi will be given an exclusive preview of the travel collection which features a custom-made picnic tent and trunk.
In a nod to quintessential Indian sensibilities and a true celebration of the glamour of travel, PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi’s tribute will be extended across the island from limited time treatments in the underwater spa, including Shirodhara head massages with coconut oil and Abhyanga massages, to magical nights at Cardamom Lounge, destination dining with a twist and spiced chai at breakfast.
Guests can also join Asana Yoga at sunrise and Pranayama Yoga at sunset, focusing on breathing techniques from Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga at the resort’s award-winning LIME Spa.
Measuring less than 35,000 square metres in total, PER AQUUM Huvafen Fushi – or Dream Island in the Maldivian tongue – is a 35 minute luxury speedboat ride away from the Maldivian capital, Male, and is surrounded by one of the best house reefs in the Indian Ocean. The resort offers a treasure trove of private spots where guests can enjoy intimate lunches or secluded dinners as well as a new menu of gastronomic delights.
Launched late last year as a reincarnation of PER AQUUM’s iconic Dream Calendar, PULSE is making waves in the Maldives, with resort guests able to access avant-garde, one-of-a-kind experiences as part of their luxury resort stay. For the full line-up go to www.peraquum.com/pulse
