Lufthansa extends First Class fare offers – 40 per cent lower on average

New First Saver Plus fare is about 40 per cent lower on average

2013-03-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — Lufthansa is extending its fares for First Class flights and in future will also offer its top travel class at a more affordable price. The new fare provides a welcome alternative to the traditional, fully flexible fare and is designed primarily for leisure travellers who have high expectations in terms of service and quality.

With this new fare, which is now being offered in the German market for flights to more than 30 long-haul destinations, First Class passengers can save 40 per cent on average. The normal round-trip fare from Frankfurt to New York, for example, is 8,499 euros. The new First Saver Plus fare on the same route can be booked for 5,499 euros. This fare is ideal for customers who plan their journey well in advance and book their flight at least 60 days before their departure. The minimum stay requirement for destinations on the East Coast of the United States and in the Middle East is six days, for all other destinations ten days. The First Saver Plus fare is not rebookable, but bookings can be cancelled on payment of a 400-euro fee.

The flight experience is identical in both fare categories and includes: First Class check-in, a personal assistant service, an increased free baggage allowance of three items, each with a maximum weight of 32 kg, a First Class flight and a limousine transfer to the aircraft in the event of flight departures from Frankfurt and Munich. With both fares, First Class passengers who are members of the Miles & More frequent flyer programme are also awarded the same number of miles, i.e. treble the number flown.

“Lufthansa’s First Class stands for individuality, the ultimate in comfort and innovative luxury – both on the ground and in the air,” says Jens Bischof, Member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board. “This is clearly underlined, amongst other things, by the recent award of the 5-star ranking by Skytrax. With the new pricing concept, Lufthansa’s First Class will also attract vacationers who are keen to enjoy the ultimate in luxury during the most precious days of the year.”
